Postcards include: #1 Knoxville High School, #2 Hotel Atkin and Viaduct, #3 View up Town from Empire Building, #4 University of Tennessee, #5 Post Office, #6 Lawson McGhee Library, #7 Tennessee River Bridge, #8 Masonic Temple, #9 Gay Street, South Form Wall Street , #10 Southern Railway Depot, #11 The Home of John Sevier, First Governor of Tennessee, #12 Cherokee Country Club, #13 Residence of Col. L. D. Tyson, Melrose Ave, #14 Knoxville General Hospital, #15 Melrose Avenue, # 16 Melrose Avenue, #17 Main Building, Chilhowee Park, #18 Holston National Bank building, #19 Knox County Court House. Published by S. H. Kress & Co. Postcard booklets were popular souvenirs and gifts at the turn of the century. This booklet contains views of Knoxville around 1919, and was published by S.H. Kress & Co.--a five and dime chain of department stores in the US, that operated from 1896 to 1981. |
