Description Sculpted Pony;* molded grayish-white clay; head join; neck section restored; 1 side pitted; rear proper right leg chipped; figure of goddess missing.
* The pony now looks like a pack horse, but in reality the goddess Epona was sitting side-saddle on the saddle blanket & holding a basket of fruit on her lap; traces of her hand; feet and skirt are visible. Found "off the Grosse Bleiche" at the bottom of a Roman latrine.
