Numidian coin, silver, AR denarius. Minted by King Juba I of Numidia (60-46 B.C.E.), in 47-46 B.C.E. The head of the bearded Juba I wears a diadem, drapery across the bust, and supports a scepter over right shoulder in profile, on obverse with the inscription "REX IVBA" right. On reverse, an octostyle temple is depicted with neo-Punic inscription left.
Date range: 47-46 B.C.E.
Remarks: This and other series of denarii were issued in support of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus' campaign against Gaius Julius Caesar.
