Description "Feature," 2014, from the portfolio "Drawn from the McClung Museum," screenprint by Ayanah Moor. Edition: 1/30.

Designed in response to McClung Museum object: Planview drawing of a prehistoric village from the Mississippian Period (AD 1200-1450), Gray Site 1SW1, 1930s.

Artist statement: Feature is a silkscreen print that references the Plan View Drawing of a Prehistoric Village from the Mississippian Period. This artwork borrows text from a listing of abbreviations within the legend of the document. I have reprinted the words: feature, burial, pit, stone pile, ash pile. I am interested in the imagery conjured by this text. For me, these words suggest evidence of transformation of site and potentially of the body .
