"Exfoliation," 1965, offset lithograph, after an original acrylic on canvas painting by Herbert Bayer. The horizontal rectangular image has a brown woodgrain ground from which pieces appear to be peeling (exfoliating). Coloring these peeling portions white, along with the addition of shadows being cast by them, provides a great sense of three-dimensionality to this piece.
Date of original work: 1964
