Macedonian coin, silver, tetradrachm. Minted after the death of Alexander the Great (356-323 B.C.E.). The head of Hercules wears a helmet and faces right in profile, on obverse surrounded by a dot border. On reverse, the seated and enthroned figure of Zeus, the god of the sky, lightning, thunder and king of the gods, faces left and holds a bird of prey in his left hand and a scepter in his right with the Greek inscription "Alexandrou" (Alexander) right of image and an unknown mark left. Figure of Zeus has one leg behind the other, which may indicate this coin was issued after the death of Alexander in 323 B.C.E. Coin has been modified with an attached silver loop to create a pendant. Date ra
