The title is within an elaborate allegorical cartouche showing classical figures, such as Neptune and Mercury, lower left, and a vignette of Basel within another lower right. Decorated with heraldic crests indicating the different principalities.

The title is within an elaborate allegorical cartouche upper left, the 36 crests of the cities of Switzerland in an heraldic Rococo cartouche upper right, and the scale and key lower right.

The local topography is clearly shown in this map, with elevation marked with distinctive hatching. The celebrated Rheinnau Falls appear to the southwest of Schaffhausen, and are also depicted in the allegorical asymmetrical rococo tile cartouche upper left.
